 Meet
Joe. Joe is a BIG Boxer/hound mix I met at the Trumbull canine
shelter, where he came in as a stray. He seemed to have had almost no training
whatsoever and was very dog aggressive. The first time we got
him together with one of the nicer Pitbulls, only quick reflexes
on our part prevented a major dogfight. Normally, this kind of
dog is very difficult to find a home for, since he can pose a
considerable danger to his new family and neighbors. Luckily, a
kind couple saw his picture on
www.petfinder.com, fell in
love with him, and decided to take the chance.
Joe and his new companions proved to be
willing students and I am happy to say that after completing the
basic obedience program Joe is now a well-behaved member of his
new family, which includes a four month old cat. It just goes to
show what some work, perseverance, and love can accomplish.
